After 4 monthsAugust 8, 2010 B. C. Murray(Los Angeles, CA United States) Been using this battery for 4 months without fail. The extra juice is always nice to have.
awesome batteryJune 25, 2010 josh clay this one allows i think around 170 minutes of recording, so using it along with the stock battery, i can records up to 4 hours of video! this is great!
All day usage on full chargeMay 4, 2010 S. Zillner(Rosamond, CA) This battery lasted all day and half the night filming Disneyland using my Canon Vixia HFS100 HD camcorder. The battery that came with my camcorder last only about 60 minutes so it's OK for a backup to this all day plus battery. I'm pleased that once fully charged the battery will be ready when you need it.
A necessity for a Canon HD video cameraApril 26, 2010 On-mission(Atlanta, GA) Got to have this battery - it's my primary battery, although it does stick out pretty far from the back of the camera, and isn't the same pretty grey/taupe as the camera. But it works, and lasts a long time. Recharges quickly, too. Expensive, but worth it if you're going to be shooting anywhere for more than an hour or so. The OEM battery really doesn't get it done for long.
An excellent replacement for the included batteryApril 19, 2010 Timothy B. Riley(San Antonio, TX USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I own a Canon Vixia HFS10 and I always buy a backup battery for any camera that I own. I have been a serious still photographer for over 30 years and I have learned the hard way that to be without battery power is the same as being without a camera. This is even more true with todays power-hungry digital cameras.
The basic battery that comes with the camera is O-K, but in my experience it lasts only a little over a hour, hardly enough for a day's shooting. When I started to look for a back-up battery I thought about buying the BP-827 but they were on backorder when I wanted one and were fairly expensive at the time (they are more reasonably priced now). In retrospect I am glad that I purchased this battery for the following reasons:
* It is small enough to use as your regular battery without it sticking out as much as the larger BP-827
* It is reasonably priced so when you need to replace it you aren't set back as much as if you bought the 827
* It provides an honest 2 hours of shooting time, which, combined with the standard battery, gives me three hours
I now use this battery as my main power source and use the standard battery as a back-up. I will probably buy another one as an additional back-up. I am very happy with this product.
