Very big!August 9, 2010 Frank M. Cannizzaro(New York USA) The battery is great. The only thing is, it's gigantic. It's literally close to half the size of the camera itself. I bought a mini case for the camera, and now if I use this battery, it won't fit in the case. Inconvenient, but not the end of the world. Recharging the battery can sometimes be much more inconvenient, so the pluses definately out weigh the minuses. Great product, highly recommended.
great investmentAugust 6, 2010 Coastie(SA, TX) We recently purchased the Sony DCR-SX44 which comes with the standard 2 hour battery, since we had opted to invest in a larger memory card for the camcorder it only made sense to look for a longer life battery. This battery is providing about 5 hours of recording time if you don't do a lot of zooms, but even with zooms we achieved 4 hours before having to recharge the battery. The battery is big, it sticks out about an inch and half but that's not a terrible thing as it makes this smaller camera fit in your hand better, it gives it stability because it adds weight to it and we found that our recordings were better because of these factors. It's a little pricey but it's worth the investment if you want quality video and if you're spending an entire day at Disneyland or somewhere that you don't have to worry about the battery giving out. We also found that when our 9 yr old used the camera with the standard battery because it was so light the camera actually moved to the pulse in her hand.

Huge BatteryJune 2, 2010 ur brainwashed(Jersey Shore, NJ) I ordered this battery for my Sony XR150, when I opened up the box I couldnt believe the size of the battery! When mounted, it sit every bit of 2 inches off the back of the camera. In addition to the extended shooting time, I know the extra weight of the battery will help stabilize the camera. Its been about 2 hours and the thing is still not fully charged.
